Our Residents
Those We Serve with Care Elevated by
Modern Luxury
Many families feel deeply troubled by the choices they must make after realizing someone they love needs assisted living, dementia support, or both. At The Magnolia, we’ve gone the extra mile to provide a senior living environment with support that feels like home… because it is.
By reimagining what residential assisted living looks like, we’ve developed a hybrid model of senior care in Charlotte, NC, that brings peace and joy to families like yours.
What Life Looks Like at
The Magnolia
From upscale amenities and holistic therapies to chef-prepared meals and engaging activities, life at The Magnolia is designed to uplift the mind, body, and spirit.
With a 1:3 caregiver-to-resident ratio, your loved one will receive truly personalized care and additional support when they need it. Most importantly, you’ll feel reassured knowing that the person you love is safe and thriving in a setting that feels more like home than a large, packed building.
The Beauty of Boutique
Assisted Living
All too often, families feel torn between caring for a loved one at home at the cost of their safety, or moving them to a “big box” community where their needs get lost in the crowd. Rest assured, we’ve eliminated both these concerns at The Magnolia. Your loved one will thrive here if they seek residential assisted living that blends personalized, high-quality care with respecting and celebrating their individuality.
Ideal assisted living residents are people who:
- Require around-the-clock support led by certified nursing assistants
- Need gentle assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Are non-ambulatory and need mobility assistance
- Require medication management and administration by trusted professionals
- Benefit from care advocacy
- Enjoy health updates regularly communicated to family members
- Fare much better in smaller, boutique homes than large communities
The Security of Compassionate
Dementia Support
At The Magnolia, we’ve proudly embraced the ever-growing need for residential assisted living tailored for those with memory impairment. Too many families feel they have to choose between essential care services, but that inner conflict stops here. With both assisted living and dementia support services offered under one roof, residents can easily transition between the two, or receive both simultaneously.
Familiarity is an important part of dementia support. That’s why it’s so crucial for a resident to remain in their beloved home while getting the care they deserve. That wish turns into reality at The Magnolia, where our expert-led team provides cognitive-friendly meals, engaging therapies, and refined amenities designed to preserve dignity, joy, and connection.
Why families choose this model:
- More emotional connection between residents, staff, and family
- Calmer, less overwhelming environment for dementia care
- Flexibility in routines and meals
- A stronger sense of dignity and independence
- Support evolves with a loved one’s needs, rather than staying the same
How We Support Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders
Our in-depth, attentive dementia care includes supporting residents living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions that impact movement. We accomplish this through our uniquely low caregiver-to-resident ratio, relaxed home environment, and highly involved approach to care. Additionally, residents with Parkinson’s disease benefit from our rotating specialized therapies, including music, occupational, physical, and pet therapies.
The Magnolia is also designed with safety in mind. We are equipped to care for non-ambulatory residents, with each private room designed to meet their needs. This includes adjustable hospital beds to minimize fall risk, as well as wheelchair-accessible bedrooms and bathrooms for ease of movement and independence.
When Is It Time to Transition?
The Magnolia welcomes all residents, recognizing that every family faces its own unique challenges and circumstances. Our team is honored to walk alongside them as partners, inviting those they care deeply about into our care.
Common transition situations include:
- Families who feel they have nowhere else to turn
- Concerns regarding fall risk and safety
- An increase in at-home care needs that families are not equipped for
- Family caregivers who have begun to feel burned out
- The recovery period after being discharged from a hospital
- A recommendation of assisted living or dementia support from a medical professional
- The progression of dementia, Alzheimer’s, or Parkinson’s disease
- Challenges adjusting to larger, more impersonal communities
Recognizing When We
May Not Be the Right Fit
The Magnolia strives to support residents with diverse assisted living and dementia support needs, but there are instances where certain levels of care may not align with what we can provide. This includes individuals who require ongoing skilled nursing care in a hospital setting, such as IV therapy, tube feeding, or complex wound care.
Every luxurious suite at The Magnolia is just that: a comforting living space equipped with furnishings and innovative technology that makes life easier for residents. Those in need of a medical suite may require a more specialized arrangement. Similarly, individuals living with dementia or memory impairment who are prone to exit-seeking behaviors, including wandering or elopement, may need lodging with heightened security.
We may also not be the most suitable option for individuals whose behaviors or episodes could present a risk to themselves or other residents in our care.
If we ever discover that The Magnolia may not be the right next step, our team is happy to keep the relationship going. We would love to work with you to suggest more appropriate options, ensuring a smooth transition and less stress for your family.
